The Blue Mtns. - My Senses In Writing

- The trickle of water off small mossy rocks onto the ones underneath
- The rush of water over cliff edges pouring into the pool below
- The drip of water ever so quietly landing on the leaves overhead
- The caw of birds calling to each other over the valley
- The rustling of leaves by unseen creatures digging, scratching, and running
- The comfort of footsteps in the distance with assurance that there are other people out there
- The shredding of bark as it slowly tears off the trees and falls to the underbrush
- The difficulty of foreign languages as directions are discussed and help is attempted
- The contrast of bright white birds against the dark green of the trees in the valley
- The startle of feet reaching the end of the rock suddenly dropping far to the valley below
- The sight of massive stoney and tree covered hills for as far as the eyes can reach
- The observation of an almost unnoticeable blue haze lurking over and in the hills
- The sprinkling of crystal clear water tumbling over cliff edges at enormous heights
- The strangeness of green, moss covered rocks
- The uncertainty of unmarked trails at a fork in the path
- The dispair and hope of black trees from a fire still standing with small, new growths of green
- The scurry of little, dark lizards running across the path in what seems like fear
- The tickle of a butterfly landing ever so softly
- The coolness of a waterfall in the valley
- The warmth of the sun on the cliff tops
- The scratch of greens over growing onto the path
- The squish and squash of mud
- The pain of 600+ stairs... Going up
- The tightness of skin burned by the sun
- The rolling of sweat from head to toe
- The pinch of mosquitoes as they bite
- The relief of a chipped, rusty, worn out bench over grown with greenery
- The distress of the last drink of water spilling out onto the rocks
- The adrenaline of a foot slipping over the edge of a path
- The anxiety of complete solitude in the bush
- The calm of complete solitude in the bush
- The accomplishment and pride of doing something new, slightly unsettling, and entirely difficult with only internal motivation to keep moving forward
